Indoor Flytrap

On the homestead we prefer to use organic or non-toxic “safe for kids” pest control options. This indoor flytrap recipe is what we recommend you use in your home or kitchen to keep flies out.

We also like to find ways to recycle, so we recommend using a small 500ml soft drink bottle. 

Indoor Fly Trap Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp of honey
  • ⅓ cup of brown sugar
  • 1 cups of water

Instructions

  1. Cut the bottle in half in order to separate the the top cone from the bottom of the bottle, and set aside to insert your recipe.
  2. In a pot on the stove, add the honey, sugar and water and stir until everything is well combined. 
  3. Once the mixture has cooled down a bit, pour the mixture into the cut 500ml leaving a gap under the upside down cone top without the screw bottle top.
  4. Place in your kitchen, or home to collect flies.
