We were looking for a bread we could make that would be healthier and cheaper to make than shop-bought bread. What’s more, we were looking for a gluten-free option as we have a family member who is gluten intolerant.
That’s when we came across sourdough. The bactaria found in sourdough consumes gluten, that way making it a safe option for those who are gluten intolerant. The body digests sourdough much easier and therefore it’s extremely gentle on the gut.
At the same time, we were also looking for a bread recipe that we could use in a bread machine (we have the Kambrook bread machine) so that the machine could do all the work for us.
So in short, this option ticked all the boxes for us on The Hutchi Homestead – easy, healthier and cheaper on the monthly food bill. We easily consume a loaf a day.
