Homemade Tomato Puree

This recipe is so easy and so delicious!  It is very versatile as you can use it as a tomato puree on pizza, you can use it in pasta dishes or you can use it stew.  It freezes really well, so when you make it, you can make a huge batch to freeze so that it is available whenever you need it.

Homemade Tomato Puree Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 – 3 ripe tomatoes
  • 1 white onion
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • fresh basil
  • Olive/Avocado Oil
  • Salt & Pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut the tomatoes and onion in chunks and place it with the garlic and basil in an oven safe dish.  Season it with the salt and pepper and drizzle a generous amount of oil over.  Bake in the oven at 200 degrees celcius.
  2. Once the tomato and onion and is soft, place it in a blender (you can also use a stick blender) and blend until it is pureed.
  3. Enjoy over pizza, pasta or stews.
